Where a spreadsheet falls short

In Traxpend, everyone adds expenses from their own phone, budgets warn you at 80%, recurring bills log themselves, and settle-up shows the fewest payments with a UPI QR or a PayPal or Venmo link. Free for up to five people. Traxpend for flatmates.

Questions

How do I split expenses by room size?

Set each person’s share on the Balances sheet, for example 40% for the biggest room and 30% for the two smaller ones. Our free rent split calculator can suggest shares from room sizes.

Does it work in Google Sheets?

Download the file, open Google Sheets, choose File → Import → Upload, pick the file and select “Create new spreadsheet”. The formulas carry over.

What does a negative balance mean?

A negative balance means that person has paid less than their share and owes money. People with a minus pay the people with a plus.

Can I add more roommates?

Yes. Add a row on the Balances sheet, copy the formulas down, and make sure the shares still add up to 100%.
