Option A: 50 / 50 Equal Split

Darshan (₹120k income) ₹30,000 (25% of pay)
Muskan (₹80k income) ₹30,000 (37.5% of pay)

Muskan sacrifices a 12.5% larger slice of her earnings for the exact same home.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does “fair share by income” mean?

Instead of splitting shared costs 50/50, each person pays in proportion to what they earn. If one partner earns 60% of the household income, they cover 60% of shared bills — so everyone gives up the same percentage of their pay.

Should couples split bills equally or by income?

Both are fair in different ways. Equal splits are simple; income-based splits stop the lower earner spending a much bigger slice of their pay on the same home. Use this calculator to see the difference in actual money, then agree on what feels right.

Is my income saved anywhere?

No. The numbers stay in your browser. In Traxpend you only set the percentages, not the incomes.
