1. Introduction
Welcome to Traxpend. We operate the Traxpend shared and household finance platform. Your privacy and the confidentiality of your data matter fundamentally to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, process, secure, and handle information when you use our service.
By creating an account or using Traxpend, you consent to the data practices described in this policy. We do not sell, rent, or trade your data to advertisers or third-party brokers.
2. Data We Collect
To provide shared budgeting, real-time balance sync, and OCR receipt features, we collect:
- Account information: names, email addresses, profile pictures, and authentication tokens needed to keep you securely signed in.
- Financial records: transaction amounts, dates, categories, budget limits, wishlist votes, and settlement records you or your space members add.
- Receipt and AI processing data: uploaded receipt photos and transcribed line items so totals can be allocated to expenses.
- Technical metadata: IP addresses and error logs used strictly for diagnostics and brute-force prevention.
We never ask for your bank login credentials, and Traxpend does not connect directly to your bank accounts.
3. How We Use Data
We use the collected information solely to operate, support, and improve Traxpend: syncing shared spaces between members, processing receipts via OCR, generating monthly budget reviews, and maintaining account security.
4. Data Security & Retention
All data in transit is encrypted using HTTPS and HSTS. Passwords are stored exclusively as salted, one-way hashes using industry-standard PBKDF2 algorithms. You can permanently delete your account and all associated ledger records at any time from your account settings.
