# Voice entry

> Say “paid twelve hundred for electricity yesterday” — in your language — and Traxpend fills in the expense.

## How it works

1. **Listen**: On `Add Transaction`, open the voice assistant, allow the microphone and say what you spent. Tap again to stop.
2. **Transcribe**: Your recording is turned into text by a speech-recognition model. Silence and stray sounds (like a lone “thank you”) are ignored, so a missed recording asks you to try again instead of guessing.
3. **Understand**: An AI reads the text alongside **your space’s own categories and members**, and works out the amount, category, who paid, the date and a short note.
4. **Review**: The form is filled in for you. Nothing is saved until you check it and tap save.

## What you can say

- **Amounts in words or numbers** — “1.5k”, “three hundred”, “पांच सौ”, “બારસો”.
- **Any language** — English, Hindi, Gujarati, Spanish, French and more. The note is written back in clear English.
- **Dates** — “yesterday”, “last Sunday”, “कल”, “ગઈકાલે”. No date means today.
- **Who paid** — a member’s name, or how you refer to them (“Dad”, “Mom”, “પપ્પા”).
- **Bulk or recurring** — say “bulk” or “every month” and the expense type is set for you.
